THE PROBLEM
Attendance systems record a claim and then treat it as a fact. A card gets handed over at the gate. A button gets pressed from the car park. Here it feeds payroll, so a wrong record is somebody's pay.
THE APPROACH
- Face matching answers who, location answers where, and nothing is recorded unless both agree.
- Matching runs on the device. No image and no biometric reaches a server.
- Attendance is stored as an observation with a confidence, not as a yes or no.
- Uncertain captures route to a person rather than being guessed either way.
THE DECISION THAT MATTERED
No central face database, because there is nothing to protect if it does not exist. A leaked password can be rotated. A leaked face cannot. The server receives the outcome and the location, never the thing that was matched.
